Hiya.

According to the stats on navyfield.eu, MN t2 torpedo bombers are available at lvl 67 (other nations, 77), and take up only 90 space (other nations, 100, 'cept USN at 80).

I've tried to decipher the torpedo stats for MN too, and it would seem that MN t2 torps do a thousand more points of damage than even RN torps, and are as fast as KM torps (the lowest damaging)!!

This does strike me as a recipe for disaster, and I was wondering if anyone can verify these stats.

I would like to see a review of TB stats anyway by NF team.

Most BB and CV now carry a lot of bulge so that they can take at least one full hit from current SS3 and try to run away. I carry enough Bulge that I loose 1knot of speed. This means I can handle 4 SS3 Torps on my BB5 before I start taking damage, but the next salvo will probably leave me in very bad shape.

This increase in Bulge means TB now are a little weak in general. Could all the other TB get +1000 damage? It is not much. But at the moment you will need I think 25TB to sink me assuming they all hit smile.gif

C'mon now, no-one has lvl 67 MN torpedo bomber pilots yet? Someone must be able to verify this.

Lol checked on NFNA for some comparison, MN T2 TBs got 273 in fuel which is approx. 65.4% more then #2 UK.
A more reasonable 161 on NFEU.

Still its damn good if its correct with the lvl 67 T2s with 9.5k torps

I've just got done with a comparison of dive bombers too. Whereas before IJN had the best HE bombs and KM the best AP bombs, now MN has the best of both by about 100 points of damage. It's t2 bombs are also available at lvl 71 (other nations, 75).

You can compare stats for yourself on navyfield.eu.

Aircraft and bombs
http://www.navyfield.eu/eng/info/shipyard/aircraft.asp

Torpedoes
http://www.navyfield.eu/eng/info/shipyard/torpedo.asp

So to summarise, MN can now carry the most torpedo bombers at a lower level than any other nation, with each torpedo doing more damage than any other nation. Their HE and AP bombs do more damage than any other nation, the t2 bombs able to be carried at a lower level than any other nation.

Basically they're the best bombing nation by some distance, aided by a fighter/fighter pilot combo that's probably second best in the game behind KM (roughly equal to USN).

I did expect the new nation to be OP. It's the same with all expansion content; it's over-powered when introduced to persuade players to buy into it, and is balanced later. So no, these stats don't surprise, shock me or upset me, I'm just looking for verification on whether they're correct or not.

Cheers.

i personal don't have a MN crew right now, but a fleet mate has a crew for the Strasbourg ready (well he still drives the Paris cause of the 1 spot more support place ... that a lvl79 ship has 1 support place less then a lvl 69 is in my eyes wrong, but this isn't the topic of this thread) ... and what he already can achieve with this lil'bugger of ship, is compared to other nations ships/at lvl crew really hard. i guess we will first see the real outcome of that all first, when some BB4-5/CV4-5 from france driving around. But i see it also like nemarsde, they gonna be like UK, easy earning XP ships (note: i didn't say overpowered, because there is still the minor malfunction source implemented ... the player what sit behind that ship).

I'm confident MN is over-powered (for Great Battle at least), as power creep in expansions is very much a fixture in the computer game landscape. So I don't have a problem with it per se, I'm just trying to determine in what way MN is OP -- and in this thread MN bombers are my focus.

If MN bombers are so much more effective than other nations, a player needs to be prepared for it. Yes, it is something of a slap in the face for players of other nations' CVs, but it's inevitable side-effect of having new content added to a game. As Biter said, the armaments for non-MN torpedo and dive bombers are probably UP anyway, having had their damage set when the game was a very different beast to what it is now.

So anyway, if anyone can confirm that the MN stats on navyfield.eu are correct, that'd be terrific. (As I'm assuming those asp pages don't pull stats directly from the game.)

Still no verification on these stats?

No-one using MN bombers in-game? That's a shame, because if the stats are correct then MN players are missing out! tongue.gif

I got my Dixmude the other day, and I'm running 4 TB pilots. They seem pretty average -- their damage is pretty good for T1 TBs, but the speed of their torps is very slow. A tradeoff, perhaps, although the T2 TB's appear to not have the speed problem.

The one thing that is really noteworthy, though, is that their sight range appears to be bugged. Their sight range is, according to the posted information, about 1000, which is a bit less than a T1 scout plane. That's on-par with other nations' TBs. However, their actual sight range is very, very small. Less than DB's, I'd say. They are almost completely blind and cannot function without something else providing light.

Aye, MN's t1 torpedo is very slow. So though it does nearly a thousand more damage than other nations, it's around 10 units slower too. You'll get your uber t2 torps at 67 though, so push on, you'll be there in no time.
